Schütze

Tim Schütze is a designer who combines craft, research, and technology into a contemporary understanding of design. Starting in 2021, he pursued a Master’s degree in Product Design at the Berlin University of the Arts, following his studies in Industrial Design at HTW Berlin and the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem. His work ranges from furniture and everyday objects to urban planning concepts—always driven by the ambition to unite material, function, and social responsibility.

A striking example is his further development of the Richard Lampert classic, the Eiermann table. The idea emerged during his master’s studies at UdK: inspired by 3D printers, Schütze developed a spindle system that allows seamless and precise height adjustment—mechanically via gears and belts or electrically by motor. After three years of development, the collaboration resulted in a height-adjustable Eiermann that respects the original while opening up new freedoms for work. From autumn 2025, the table will be available as the Eiermann M with mechanical height adjustment and as the Eiermann E with electric adjustment.

Whether modular shelving systems, product concepts, or climate-resilient infrastructures—Schütze’s projects move fluidly between scale and discipline. At the core lies the iterative process: making, experimenting, reflecting. He sees his Berlin-Schöneberg studio as both workshop and laboratory. Awards such as a nomination for the Federal Ecodesign Award, a presentation at Milan’s Salone del Mobile, and being a finalist for the German Design Award Newcomer 2023 underscore his approach. Today, he also contributes his perspective to teaching while working with Konstantin Grcic Design GmbH on product solutions that are as precise as they are visionary.
